Hopes and Dreams for Wanderlust

Hi guys,

So, the Breathless sequel, Wanderlust, is well underway. Just like in Breathless, there will be many exciting twists and turns, but as I write, I can't help wondering what your hopes and dreams are for Lia and Chaseyn. How do you see their future unraveling? Do you want them to be together? Should she become a vampire? Is Eli the better choice for her? I want to hear what you have to say!

No matter how the story unfolds, I can tell you this...the ending will leave you wanting more!

Cheers,
Heather

  1. i love, love loved your book and Lia and Chaseyns story, i have read sooo many books in this category and it was finally a love story that felt real even if its a "vampire" story and of course i would hope that their love goes beyond time and space and that they really are soulmates.
and for once it would be nice to read a story where the heroin doesnt have to think about making a choice because she knows that there can only be one true love. and i must be speaking for a lot of your readers when i say that it would really be a bummer if Lia and Chaseyn never got to "consume" their relationship.. you have after all created the ultimate super sexy/hot guy with a little of an edge thats also completely devoted and considerate..
when theres good character development its great to read about what happens after they are committed to each other, not just the leading up to part. i would love if Lia is something more than we know and that chaseyn is the only key for the lock or something..that they were meant to solve something by being together..haha jeez i cant wait to keep reading and whatever you have in mind is going to be great:)

  2. Thanks so much for this feedback. I'm so glad to hear how much you enjoyed the book and some of your ideas about where you think Chaseyn and Lia's relationship should go. I have some surprises in store in Wanderlust, and I'll do my best to make sure readers get what they want!

  3. Heather,

I just wanted to take a minute to drop you a note. I'm an avid reader, but never really delved into the paranormal genre. About a year ago I discovered a book that I absolutely fell in love with, which happened to be of the vampire variety. Having finished the series I began searching for characters that I'd feel the same way about, to no avail. Then I came across Breathless and was drawn in and hooked by the first few pages. Chaseyn is the kind of Hero I look for in the books that I choose to read. Lia is such a strong and well defined character, which was a breath of fresh air . I thoroughly enjoyed the first installment of this series and I'm confident that any avenue you choose to take the story will be a simply marvelous. Personally, I'd love to see Chaseyn and Lia continue their romance in the following books. You've created characters who spring to life on the pages, a skill that isn’t mastered by many. Keep up the wonderful work!

    Best Wishes,

    Meaghan

  4. I have to agree. I read, way too much if i'm completly honest, and I am just so tired of the love traingles. I mean I know it makes things interesting and there is always a chance that you can love more than one person, but really I just want someone who sees what they have and stops looking for more. I mean I know she is young and trying to figure things out, but i can't help but be frusturated with Lia and hope she doesn't blow it. I hope they end up together, and I hope she doesn't break his heart.

  5. I loved the book Breathless, and I can't wait for the sequel. I agree with the first poster that OF COURSE Lia & Chaseyn should end up together, and that she shouldn't be too tempted by Eli or anyone else. If they are truly soulmates she couldn't even contimplate being with someone else. They seem like the perfect match for eachother & can't wait to see what is in store for their relationship. It's gonna KILL me to wait for Wanderlust!!!

  6. Oh my goodness! I'm so excited to hear from so many people who feel so strongly about Lia and Chaseyn, and I hope you enjoy Wanderlust just as much. I've been working feverishly at writing it, and the ideas just keep flowing onto the pages. I am writing as fast as I can, and as much as I want to get you th enext book ASAP, I don't want to risk corrupting the story by writing it too quickly. The last thing I want to do is leave you all feeling cheated.

The good news is that I have written the ending...I just need to fill in the blanks in between. You know how directors pull apart pieces of a script and film them out of order? Well, that's sort of how I write. I write sections as them come to mind and connect them together later. So, I can tell you that the end is not at all what you will expect--I know it's not what I expected! And, I can't wait to write book three based on it!

Will Chaseyn end up with Cordelia? I'll leave that to be seen. I know that she wants to feel independent and strong without him--something that I feel not enough young heroines want in today's books. It's important to me that she at least acknowledges a need for it. That said, I remember that first time I fell in love as a teenager...sometimes wha you want and what you need are two different things.

I'll talk at you all more soon. I'll likely be throwing up another sneak peak in the next few days, so keep watching!

Again, thank you all for sharing with me!

    Cheers,
    Heather

  8. Hi Kassie,

I'm so glad that Lia's strength came through foryou. I didn't want her to be a pushover.

I'm planning to release Wanderlust mid-March. I hate to keep readers waiting, but I want to be sure it lioves up to the expectations!

Thanks for your patience and support!

  9. I just bought a Kindle and found your book. I write in the genre and I enjoyed your twist on the vampire lore! I always think its great to see us all take a different spin on it! :) I am also quite happy to hear there are sequels coming. To leave Cordelia and Chaseyn (great name) hanging would hurt my heart. Yeah, she needs to learn to be independant...but I think in the end, he's right for her...though they may have to learn that the hard way.

Enjoy the writing process! I know it's fun to watch it all play out as you create it (I too write the ending and fill in the blanks) and when it's fun for you...you KNOW it'll be fun for us to read.

    Happy V-Day!

    Tamsin :)

    P.S. If Lia doesn't want Chaseyn...I'll take him. ;)

  10. Heather,

I would like to first say that I love your writing and think you are a very talented author. With that said, I can tell you that I loved Breathless and am so happy I found it! It had me hooked from the first page. I must say I love Cordelia and Chaseyn together. To be honest, I hate books with love triangles, and the jumping back and forth. These two seem to fit with each other and share a certain bond that I hope will not be broken. While I understnad Lia wants to be independent right now, I can only hope her and Chaseyn will be brought back together and much stronger than before. I do hope to see them more commited to each other with taking their romance to the next level, or at least some more romance/chemistry going on. ;) Chaseyn is the perfect guy for Cordelia and I couldn't have asked for two better characters. Cannot wait for Wanderlust!!

  11. Heather,
I forgot to ad in my previous post that I would love to see Lia become a vampire, but only if A) Chaseyn turned her, and B) She wanted to- not because she was dieing and needed to be saved (So Twilight :) Not that I didn't enjoy Twlight).

  12. @Tamsin - It's always nice to hear from a fellow author. Thanks for supporting my work. Love that you get the process I use. It's a bit mixed up sometimes--trying to connect some parts now that need reworking abit because the parts in between took on an unexpected twist, but it keeps me on my toes!

P.S. If you thought Chaseyn was romantic in Breathless, just you wait. But, he might have some making up to do!

@Amanda - I can promise you that I will never turn Lia into a damsel in distress. I won't tarnish her character like that!

  14. Good to hear from you, sbqt805. Thank you so much for the lovely compliments. I was having a bit of trouble sorting out what I wanted to happen in Wanderlust, but I've got it worked out now. It will be coming soon. In the meantime, be sure you vote for your favorite cover concept. One of these will be used as the basic idea behind the final cover.

  15. Oh! I almost forgot...it's Chase-in. Like Jason. I picked it because it means "hunter" but is a bit more unique. I love adding hidden touches in my books.

I'm glad you like it. I've caught some flack for it from some reviewers, but I still think it's a super cool name!

  16. Just finished the book and was looking for the release date when I came across this question. In my opinion she should end up with Chaseyn of course. Like one of the other comments, I;m not a fan of love triangles. I also seen that you said you didn't want to be compared woth Twilight so if you add another guy to the mix with the argument that he's better for her because he can give her what the other can not, it sounds to much like that whiney werewolf and it's a total turn off. Chaseyn is just perfect and they belong together especially since his father is always going to be an issue. Please let it just play out and give them their HEA.

Love the book and can't wait for the next part of the adventure.
